Reading UC Davis Usenet News From Off-Campus

Access to UC Davis Usenet News is restricted to UC Davis faculty, students, and staff (UC Davis affiliates). Using the campus’s  distributed authentication service, we can now offer access to UC Davis’s news server, news.ucdavis.edu, to UC Davis affiliates who login to campus via a third party internet service provider.

Follow these steps

• Log  into the Kerberos server using your web browser.
• Start your news reader.
• This authentication scheme may not work with older browsers.
• At this point you will be able to access the UC Davis news server.
• To configure the host for your news reader please use: news.ucdavis.edu
